06/08/2018 - An African Development Bank team of experts visited Zambia from 23 to 27 July to identify businesses in the nation’s water and agriculture sectors eligible for new financing mechanisms it is offering to the southern African nation.
06/08/2018 - The President of the African Development Bank Group, Akinwumi Adesina, has made an urgent call to give farmers across the continent new technologies with the potential to transform agricultural production. Adesina said the technology transfer was needed immediately and that evidence from countries like Nigeria demonstrated that technology plus strong government backing was already yielding positive results.

The African Development Bank will on 26-27 July 2018, host “From Plan to Action,” a meeting on controlling Fall Armyworm in southern Africa. The meeting will bring together ministerial level government representatives and experts from the government of Zambia, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), Sygenta Foundation, the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) to Lusaka, Zambia.

The Launching Ceremony of the Pilot Project on the Use of Drones in Agricultural Development Projects will be attended by Tunisia’s Minister of Development and International Cooperation and Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries. The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, Vice Mayor of Busan Metropolitan City, and the Director General of the Regional Office of the African Development Bank for North Africa, will also participate in the event.
