The problem of climate change and how it has affected the continent’s agriculture sector was one of the key topics at the 7th African Green Revolution Forum in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. The week-long forum kicked off Monday, September 4 and runs until Friday, September 8.

07-Sep-2017 - The President of Liberia, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 paid a visit to the African Development Bank President Akinwumi Adesina at the Bank’s headquarters in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. Johnson Sirleaf and her team were received by President Adesina, Kwabena B. Oku-Afari, Executive Director for Liberia, Gambia, Ghana, Sierra Leone and Sudan, and other Senior Bank Officials. After signing the Bank’s ‘Golden Book’, Johnson Sirleaf and her delegation then met with the Bank President and top management.

French President Macron appoints AfDB’s Vanessa Moungar to new Presidential Council for Africa

04-Sep-2017 - The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, has appointed Vanessa Moungar, the African Development Bank’s Director for Gender, Women and Civil Society, to his Presidential Council for Africa. Moungar and 10 other members of the elite group (mostly entrepreneurs, scientists and innovators) have been appointed to advise Macron on his African policy. The Council will have direct access to the French President and will also offer technical advice ahead of any Presidential missions to Africa.
