09-Nov-2017 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB) has approved a US$ 172-million financial package to Nedbank Group Limited of South Africa, to finance local and continental businesses.
The package comprises of a ZAR 2-billion subordinated loan and a US$ 30 million unfunded Risk Participating Agreement (RPA) facility to benefit African issuing banks in 20 Regional Member Countries (RMCs).
09-Nov-2017 - The African Natural Resources Center of the African Development Bank (AfDB) is organising the East Africa gas competence seminar and investment roundtable in Dar es Salam, Tanzania on 9 and 10 November.
The Seminar will gather around 60 government officials and experts from petroleum ministries, entrepreneurs and representatives of gas companies and related private sector industries from Angola, Mozambique, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda.

08-Nov-2017 - The Ebola scourge should not be taken as a problem affecting individual countries, but should be taken on by each and every African, Donald Kaberuka, President of the African Development Bank Group, said Saturday at the African Union Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Kaberuka was addressing over 60 entrepreneurs on November 8 at the Business Roundtable organized by the AfDB and the African Union.

08-Nov-2017 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) under the leadership of the Department of Gender, Women and Civil Society (CSO), and in partnership with the Lagos Fashion and Design Week (LFDW), Hivos International and Google Africa conducted the Fashionomics Africa Masterclass on October 27th and 28th 2017. The training module, entitled Disrupt!FASHION! was designed and facilitated by Hivos International together with AfDB; and took place alongside the LFDW at EKO Atlantic City in Lagos.
08-Nov-2017 - The Boards of Directors of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB), on Wednesday, 8 November 2017, approved the Africa Thriving and Resilient: The Bank Group’s Second Climate Change Action Plan, 2016-2020 (CCAP2). The approval of this document is propitious as it echoes the on-going discussions at COP23 in Bonn, Germany to strengthen the global response to the threat of climate change and achieve the Paris Agreement’s goal of keeping global temperature rises to 1.5C.
08-Nov-2017 - The AfDB Group's Board of Directors has approved a total AfDB loan of €98.06 million to finance a program of the regional airline, Air Côte d’Ivoire (ACI) to modernize and expand its operations. The loan consists of a €51.16 million sovereign loan, a €42.64 million private sector loan, and an African Development Fund (ADF) loan of €4.26 million.
08-Nov-2017 - If the fight against climate change is not won in Africa, it cannot be won anywhere else, said Akinwumi Adesina, President of the African Development Bank (AfDB) while signing a partnership agreement with the Green Climate Fund.
“Only by defeating the climate change threat in Africa can we reach a global solution,” Adesina said.
He called on AfDB and GCF to “work together to win this war,” while signing an Accreditation Master Agreement (AMA). These legal arrangements allow Accredited Entities such as AfDB to implement GCF-approved projects.

La BAD avait déjà financé la première phase de ce programme en 2016.
