20-Apr-2022 - The African Development Bank’s 2019-2023 strategy for Ghana is producing tangible results, particularly in the agriculture and transport sectors, according to a mid-term review of the strategy. The strategy, which was approved by the Board of Executive Directors of the African Development Bank Group in June 2019, is based on two pillars: support for Ghana’s industrialization and private-sector development activities, and support for infrastructure development that enables domestic, regional and global trade.

The virtual panel — “Harnessing the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) to Build Africa’s Climate Resilience: Practical case studies and experiences” — took place on the 31st March 2022 as part of the Second Global Gobeshona Conference.

Multinational: African Development Bank earmarks €10 million equity investment to drive technologies in the wake of Covid-19
19-Apr-2022 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank has approved an equity investment of €9.8 million to support venture capital investments in African start-ups, from seed to growth stages. Of the equity investment, €7 million will be sourced from the African Development Bank’s own resources; the additional €2.8 million represents funds provided by the European Union (EU) through a partnership with the Organisation of African Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS).

This year’s meetings mark a return to in-person sessions following virtual meetings over the last two years. They will be held in a hybrid format with participants present in Accra and online. The physical sessions, including statutory meetings of governors of the Bank and knowledge events, will take place at the Accra International Conference Centre.

Malawi: Country strategy sparks transformation in agriculture
