18-Jul-2016 - The African Development Bank is hosting a five-day training program from Monday 18th to Friday 22nd July 2016, to provide Parliamentary Staff with critical skills in policy analysis. They will also be trained to analyze and synthesize data into policy briefs. This is to position them to prepare briefs which will then be distributed to relevant Parliamentary Committees to inform decision making and advisory functions.
18-Jul-2016 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB) on July 13, 2016 approved a USD 14 million senior loan through its private sector window to Form Ghana Ltd for restoration of degraded forest reserves through sustainably managed forest plantations. 18-Jul-2016 - On 15th of July 2016, the African Development Bank (AfDB) approved USD 12.4 million grant for a project called "50 million Women Speak" to create a networking platform dedicated to sub-Saharan women entrepreneurs. The grant will be spread between the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), the East African Community (EAC) and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
15-Jul-2016 - The African Development Bank has approved a USD 1 million emergency grant to fight the scourge of malnutrition in the Great South of Madagascar. The purpose of the grant is to improve the nutritional status of vulnerable groups by decreasing the severity of food insecurity as well as decreasing the overall acute malnutrition of children under the age of five years in the region. The Bank support will result in the increase of the number of households that have access to a nutritious diet through Food and Nutrition Assistance services.

12-Jul-2016 - The African Development Bank Group will host a workshop on “Establishing an African Agriculture Risk Sharing and Financing Mechanism” in Nairobi, Kenya, from 12-13 July 2016.
The AfDB seeks to partner with African governments and financial institutions to design an innovative mechanism which will facilitate increase in financing to agriculture. This will be through de-risking agriculture value chains, reducing transaction costs and unlocking financial flows into the agriculture sector at scale across the continent.
