02-Dec-2016 - La Banque africaine de développement (BAD) et la Mauritanie ont signé, le 30 novembre 2016 à Abidjan, des accords de financement totalisant 9,2 millions de dollars américains, prêt et don cumulés. C’est une grande première, puisqu’il s’agit là du tout premier appui budgétaire de la Banque à la Mauritanie. Ce financement servira à la première phase du Programme d’appui aux réformes économiques et à la diversification de l’économie (PAREDE I) du pays.
02-Dec-2016 - Financial commitments to Africa’s infrastructure development in 2015 totalled $83.4bn, a 12% increase from the previous year, a report by the Infrastructure Consortium for Africa’s (ICA) revealed.
The Infrastructure Financing Trends in Africa 2015 report was released during the ICA annual meetings held in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire from November 22-23 under the theme: ““Building quality infrastructure for Africa’s development.”

The event was organized by the Bank’s Agriculture and Agro-Industries Department (OSAN), which is led by Chiji Ojukwu and supported by the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture, as well as the Ministry for the Promotion of Youth, Youth Employment and Civic Engagement in Côte d’Ivoire.

The forum brought together more than 500 participants, comprising government officials, policy makers, scientists, researchers and private sector representatives.
30-Nov-2016 - The African Legal Support Facility (ALSF) Management Board met in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire to provide strategic guidance for the ALSF’s planned future direction and operations. The meeting was held under the leadership of the new Chairman, Seward Cooper, and focused on a number of items, namely the ALSF’s financial statements as of September 2016, the work plan and budget for 2017, the report on the review of the Medium Term Strategy (MTS) 2013–2017 as well as progress on the implementation of projects.

30-Nov-2016 - The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) and CRDB Bank Plc (CRDB) of Tanzania signed a US$ 120 million loan agreement in Nairobi on November 30, 2016 to finance infrastructure and SME projects in Tanzania. The loan will support infrastructure development, particularly the power and transport sectors, which is a major constraint for Tanzania’s economic diversification and growth.
29-Nov-2016 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) will organize from December 7 to 9, 2016 a regional consultation meeting with East African civil society organizations (CSOs) in Nairobi, Kenya, at Best Western Premier Nairobi. The meeting will be the fourth of a series of five regional consultations with African civil society organizations after the ones organized for West Africa in Dakar from 31 August to 2 September 2016, for Central Africa in Yaoundé from 28-30 September 2016 and for Southern Africa in Johannesburg from 28-30 November.
