21-Feb-2017 - The flagship event of the Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA), the 2017 Triennale, initially scheduled to take place in Marrakech, the Kingdom of Morocco from March 14-17, 2017, will now take place in the Republic of Senegal under the high patronage of Macky Sall, President of the Republic of Senegal and Lead Champion for the Committee of Ten Champion African Heads of State on Higher Education, Science and Technology.
The dates of the ADEA Triennale remain the same.
20-Feb-2017 - The Investing in African Mining Indaba, one of the world’s largest mining conference, wrapped up on 9 February, 2017, in Cape Town, South Africa with the African Development Bank playing a key role in helping to shape the continent’s future in the sector. This year, the Bank, which is one of the major sponsors of the event, hosted three key sessions to help improve African governments’ knowledge and skills in the global mining sector.
17-Feb-2017 - Le Conseil d’administration du Groupe de la Banque africaine de développement (BAD) a approuvé, un prêt et un don d’un montant total de 5,4 millions de dollars EU, pour financer le projet de développement de l’anacarde dans le bassin de la Comoé au Burkina Faso.
L’objectif de développement du projet, qui s’achèvera en cinq ans, est de contribuer à la réduction de la pauvreté en milieu rural et à l’augmentation de la capacité de séquestration de carbone.

The AfDB team was led by Adalbert Nshimyumuremyi, Acting Resident Representative, and included Kossi Robert Eguida, Principal Country Program Officer; Yannis Arvanitis, Principal Country Economist; and Habiba Ben Barka, Senior Political Economist.

14-Feb-2017 - The African Water Facility (AWF) and NEPAD Infrastructure Project Preparation Facility (NEPAD-IPPF) signed on January 31, 2017 in Pretoria, South Africa, a letter of agreement with the Orange Senqu River Basin Commission (ORASECOM) to launch the Climate Resilient Water Resources Investment Strategy and Multipurpose Project Preparation for the Orange-Senqu River Basin, shared by Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia and South Africa.
