Canadian Minister of International Development visits African Development Bank in Côte d’Ivoire, reinforces Canada’s role in Africa

16-Aug-2018 - Beneficiaries of PAIA-ID, an African Development Bank-financed agriculture project in rural Côte d’Ivoire. At the invitation of the Government of Côte d’Ivoire and the African Development Bank Group President, Dr. Akinwumi A. Adesina, Canada’s Minister for International Development, the Honourable Marie-Claude Bibeau, will be visiting Côte d’Ivoire to strengthen relations with the African Development Bank Group, of which Canada is the fourth-largest shareholder among non-regional member countries.

14-Aug-2018 - The Independent Development Evaluation (IDEV) has presented its 2017 Annual Report to the African Development Bank Group Committee on Operations and Development Effectiveness. The report entitled “Getting to Results,” is an important indicator of how well the Bank has met its operational priorities like the High 5s, improved its programmes, policies and institutional effectiveness. It was presented on 16 July 2018.

The plant, located close to Tangier, connects to Spain, through a 27-kilometre undersea cable, has transformed the country’s national power supply.

African Development Bank shares milestones and lessons learnt during Administrative Tribunal’s first 20 years

01-Aug-2018 - The African Development Bank marked the 20th anniversary of its Administrative Tribunal with a forum held at the Bank’s headquarters in Abidjan. The 28-29 June 2018 forum focused on the theme “International Administrative Justice and International Organizations: Overview and Prospects”. At the opening ceremony, Bank President Akinwumi Adesina paid tribute to the Tribunal and said it was set up to channel conflicts and to best ensure the protection of staff rights in line with Bank rules and international best practices.

Launched in 2012, the Award aims to promote high quality education research, produced by African universities, research centers and research networks. There are four award categories: (1) emerging educational researcher, (2) accomplished educational researcher, (3) outstanding mentor of educational researchers, and (4) enabling institutional environment for education research.
