15-Jan-2020 - The African Development Bank has allocated a €1.2 million grant to provide training to help resource-rich countries improve their mining revenues.
The Bank’s Regional Development, Integration and Business Delivery Complex approved the first-of its kind grant from the Transitional Support Facility for the project on Financial Modelling for the Extractive Sector (FIMES) in December. The project will be implemented in Africa’s transitional countries from 2020 to 2022.

The plant will be situated on the Ruzizi River between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo and will supply electricity to the DRC, Burundi and Rwanda.

23-Dec-2019 - The African Development Bank’s Board of Directors has approved a grant to the government of Sudan to accelerate the adoption of solar-powered irrigation pumps in the country’s West Kordofan and North Kordofan states.
The project will enable farmers’ adoption of renewable energy technology through the installation of 1,170 photovoltaic (PV) irrigation pumps, the establishment of maintenance and repair workshops for the pumps, and the supply of equipment for a pump testing laboratory to provide certification and training.

La Ring-Road couvre environ 365 km et traverse cinq des sept départements de la Région du Nord-ouest. La route comprend également plusieurs raccordements à la frontière nigériane, notamment à partir de Misaje.

Before the construction of a cross-border road in the southeast of Nigeria and northwestern Cameroon, women struggled to get seats on public transport; drivers favored male passengers because they could help push stuck vehicles out of the mud. The Enugu-Bamenda Highway has put a stop to this gender discrimination and changed the lives of those on either side of the border in other ways too.
