AfDB Board approves 2017-2021 Country Strategy Paper for Rwanda

23-Nov-2016 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) will support Rwanda’s economic transformation by boosting inclusive private sector-led growth and creating higher value-added formal employment with an indicative financing package estimated at US $939.4 million over a five-year period. This support package is contained in the Bank’s 2017-2021 Country Strategy Paper (CSP) for Rwanda, which will guide the Bank’s operations in the country during the next five years, approved by its Board of Directors on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

Africa50 appoints four esteemed infrastructure advisors to its Investment Committee

23-Nov-2016 - The Board of Directors of Africa50, the infrastructure fund for Africa, has approved the appointment of four internationally renowned investment and infrastructure experts as Senior Advisors and members of its Investment Committee. The four Senior Advisers, hailing from the U.S., France, Cameroon and Nigeria, will assist Africa50 in making investment decisions in a manner that will ensure the attainment of the dual objectives of development impact and financial return.

Stakeholders to deliberate on enhancing commercial legal practice in Africa

21-Nov-2016 - The African Legal Support Facility (ALSF) will host its inaugural stakeholder meeting from November 21-22, 2016 in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. Thirty-five experts comprising of African legal professionals and eminent development practitioners will meet to reflect and deliberate on challenges facing the legal fraternity on the continent. The Programme will support Malawi Government’s Emergency Response Plan to mitigate the current food crisis through the purchase of maize for distribution to vulnerable households.
