Abdoulkader Dileita, a national of the Republic of Djibouti, is currently serving as the Secretary to the Bank's Staff Appeals Committee, a position he has held since 2009. Prior to which he served as a long-term consultant in the Bank's Legal Department from 2006 to 2008.

02-Sep-2016 - The African Development Bank and the UN Economic Commission for Africa held an information session on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 in Rabat, in partnership with the COP22 Steering Committee, for African Ambassadors based in Morocco, in preparation for the upcoming Climate Change Conference. The meeting aimed to present the stakes for Africa at COP22, to prepare countries’ participation and to support existing efforts to coordinate the African participation at the UN climate talks.

African Development Bank launches regional consultation workshops with civil society in Dakar

01-Sep-2016 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) began the first of a series of five regional consultations with African civil society on August 31, 2016 in Dakar. Sixty people, members of West African civil society and AfDB representatives, took part in this three-day meeting. “Regional consultations with civil society are aimed at strengthening mechanisms to assist the Bank in its development programme,” stated the AfDB’s Acting Resident Representative to Senegal.

AfDB workshop on PPPs to enhance skills in infrastructure and social services financing

01-Sep-2016 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) has organised a regional training workshop on Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects in the education and healthcare sectors, taking place from August 31 to September 3, 2016 in Tunis.  The objective of the event is to promote capacity building for key interlocutors in North Africa to strengthen their skills in financing projects on infrastructure and social services. The workshop also seeks to encourage private sector participation in the region’s economy.

Guinea becomes first African nation to contribute to the ALSF

30-Aug-2016 - The Republic of Guinea has become the first African nation to make a voluntary financial contribution to the African Legal Support Facility (ALSF).  Commenting on the contribution, the ALSF Director, Stephen Karangizi, thanked the Government of Guinea for its support. “This contribution is timely and will go towards our efforts to assist African countries to negotiate complex commercial transactions, creditor litigation and other related sovereign transactions”, he said.
