Uganda, 16 July 2007 - The Bank’s Compliance Review and Mediation Unit (CRMU) mission comprising CRMU Director, Per Eldar Sovik, and Principal Compliance Officer, Adila Abusharaf, on Monday in Kampala paid a working visit to the UGFO. The mission, which is CRMU’s first to Uganda, aims at assessing the eligibility of the request on the Bujagali Hydro-power and Interconnection Projects that was registered by the Bank’s Independent Review Mechanism (IRM) in June 2007. Speaking about the mission, Mr. Sovik emphasized the mission’s independence in all the planned meetings and site visits. UGFO ResRep, Mukaila Ojelade, for his part, welcomed the mission to Uganda and promised to provide any logistics support the mission might need to do its job.
