African Development Bank President Akinwumi Adesina will headline the 5th Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) Entrepreneurship Forum, the largest annual gathering of African entrepreneurs, on 27 July, 2019, at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, Nigeria.
The event will feature African leaders, statesmen and experts to discuss Africa’s most pressing issues and promote an enabling environment for African entrepreneurs. Among them will be President Paul Kagame of Rwanda, President Macky Sall of Senegal, and President Félix Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
President Adesina will speak at a presidential dialogue in the Congress Hall at 10.00 am on opportunities and challenges facing Africa’s youth.
As part of the Jobs for Youth in Africa Strategy, the Bank Group’s Board of Directors on 17 July, 2019 approved a facility to support business development services for youth-led micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to support enterprise support organizations such as the TEF Entrepreneurship Programme from its Youth Entrepreneurship and Innovation Multi-donor Trust Fund (YEI MDTF).
President Adesina will also host President Tshisekedi at a breakfast meeting at 07.00 am to discuss investment opportunities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This will be followed by an investors’ Q&A session and a media briefing.
Bank Vice President for Agriculture, Human and Social Development Jennifer Blanke will be moderating a plenary session on tackling the challenges that plague African entrepreneurs on 26 July 2019 at 09.00 am.
