The national honour, bestowed on personalities who have shown exceptional merit, was awarded by the Head of State of Togo, Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé, on the sidelines of a visit to Togo for the launch of the Mécanisme Indicatif de Financement Agricole (MIFA), a program aimed at improving farmers’ access to finance.
25-Jun-2018 - In a bid to help Uganda improve heath and productivity in the country’s major towns, the African Development Bank has approved a US$ 62-million concessional loan to finance its Strategic Towns Water Supply and Sanitation Project (STWSSP).
The project, to be implemented in 10 towns spread across the country over a five-year period, is designed to enable the government’s achieve sustainable provision of safe water and sanitation for the urban population by 2030. This in turn will help improved health and productivity in the targeted towns.

19-Jun-2018 - To boost agricultural production and productivity in the Sudan, the Bank approved US $42 million in concessional grants from the African Development Fund to support the National Agriculture Investment Plan.
Mohamed Zaghloul, Executive Director representing Egypt and Djibouti, said, “The Bank’s support to the development of key agricultural value chains and market access is timely and will go a long way in helping Sudan in its efforts to revive its agriculture sector.”

13-Jun-2018 - On Saturday June 9, 2018, the African Development Bank culminated its program of activities for World Environment Day with a huge clean up of Grand-Bassam Beach, 40 kilometers from Abidjan. The municipality of Grand-Bassam, the Ivorian Ministry of the Environment, the Magic System Foundation and the Embassy of India, where the United Nations launched the international campaign against plastic pollution this year supported the effort.
