13/07/2018 - The African Development Bank, through its Trade Finance operations, and Afreximbank today signed a Grant Agreement to support the development of factoring (a form of debtor finance in which a business sells its accounts receivable (invoices) to a third party (called a factor) at a discount) on the continent. This is a big step towards both institutions’ unrelenting drive and commitment to continue enabling extra and intra-Africa Trade.

12/07/2018 - The 2018 edition of African Power Utilities CEO Leadership Forum took place in Cairo, Egypt, 9-10 July 2018, focusing on “Deployment of Smart Grids, Opportunities, Challenges and Strategic Options.” The forum was held back-to-back with the 52nd General Assembly of the Association of Power Utilities of Africa, hosted by the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company.

11/07/2018 - Tanzania’s ongoing macroeconomic reform program has received a boost from the African Development Bank through a US$40- million budget support loan to be provided by the African Development Fund, the concessional arm of the Bank Group.

11/07/2018 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank has approved US$50 million framework financing for small-scale renewable energy projects in Zambia, which will help diversify Zambia’s energy generation heavily reliant on hydro-electricity.

11/07/2018 - The African Development Bank has approved an additional US$10 million equity investment in the African Guarantee Fund for SMEs. This support will enable the Fund to continue guaranteeing loans to small and medium sized enterprises across Africa, thereby stimulating private enterprise development and sustainable job creation.
