12/12/2008 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB), on Thursday 11 December 2008 in Tunis, approved a 70 million Euros loan to finance the Kingdom of Morocco’s Phase II Program Support for Medical Insurance (PARCOUM II), to be implemented over a period of two years (2009-2010).
05/12/2008 - La Banque africaine de développement et l’Organisation mondiale de la santé ont procédé, jeudi 4 décembre 2008 à Tunis, à la signature d’un accord de don d’un montant de 15 millions d’unités de compte (environ 23 millions de dollars EU), relatif au financement du programme africain de lutte contre l’onchocercose ou « cécité des rivières ».
01/12/2008 - The AfDB on Monday, December 1, 2008, joined the rest of the world to commemorate the World AIDS Day. As part of the events marking this day, the AfDB organized a forum in Tunis in which medical experts and AfDB staff exchanged views on HIV-related issues.
28/11/2008 - "Lead – Empower – Deliver" is the slogan for this year’s commemoration marking the 20th anniversary of the World AIDS Day (WAD). Positive responses have been given to the epidemic since 1988, when it was established. However Africa still faces great challenges in this regard and the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group has been a partner of African governments in the fight against HIV/AIDS. "The HIV/AIDS epidemic has an obvious negative impact on welfare from increased mortality rates and reversed gains in life expectancy associated with the disease" – said Tomas Hurley in his interview.
15/07/2008 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Fund (ADF), the soft loan window of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group, in Tunis on Tuesday approved a grant of 15 million Units of Account (UA*) about US$ 24.5 million to finance Phase II and the phasing out stage of the Onchocerciasis (river blindness) Control Programme (APOC) in 19 African countries.

31/01/2008 - The Bank Group on Wednesday, January 30, 2008, in Freetown participated in the launch of the Strengthening District Health Services Project which aims at improving access to quality health care in five districts in the country, namely; Bonthe, Port Loko, Bo, Kenema and Tonkolili. The project will also enhance the institutional capacity of the country’s ministry of health and sanitation.
21/12/2006 - The workshop was organized by the NEPAD Secretariat, African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF) and the South African Trust (SAT) with the support of the Bank Group.
