21/11/2017 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) has called on African countries to implement the 1999 Yamoussoukro agreement for open skies.
While 20 countries have signed on, the 27-year old accord still faces implementation challenges, Akinwumi Adesina, President of the AfDB said Tuesday at the opening ceremony of the third ICAO World Aviation Forum in Abuja.
17/11/2017 - Receiving large numbers of refugees has a significant impact on human capital in the host country and especially on education and youth employment. This is the conclusion of a study entitled “The consequences for human capital of hosting refugees: Kagera case study”, presented on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at the headquarters of the African Development Bank (AfDB) in Abidjan by Maryam Naghsh Nejad of the Institute of Labour Economics (IZA), in Bonn, Germany.
19/10/2017 - A new report launched on October 18, 2017 states that in spite of recent progress, African countries need to sustain efforts to eradicate extreme poverty and gender inequality and also improve their statistical capabilities to implement and track progress towards Africa’s own Agenda 2063 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

19/10/2017 - La Banque africaine de développement (BAD), à travers la Facilité africaine de l’eau (FAE) et le Mécanisme de financement de la préparation de projets d’infrastructures du NEPAD (IPPF-NEPAD), deux fonds spéciaux multi-donateurs qu’elle héberge et administre, a approuvé le décaissement de 2 098 593 d’euros au profit de la Communauté économique des Etats de l’Afrique centrale (CEEAC), le 11 août 2017.
13/10/2017 - The African Development Bank President, Akinwumi Adesina, will deliver the Norman Borlaug Lecture as part of the World Food Prize events taking place from October 16-20, 2017 in Des Moines, Iowa, USA.
The Norman Borlaug Lecture titled “Betting on Africa to Feed the World” will be held in conjunction with the annual World Food Prize celebration.
06/10/2017 - The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and the Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) related to the cooperation in the education sector in Africa. The objective of the MoU is to support common Member Countries achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Africa’s Agenda 2063.
05/10/2017 - Economiste expert en marchés financiers africains et coordinateur de l’Initiative des marchés financiers africains de la BAD, Cédric Mbeng Mezui est l’auteur d’un ouvrage intitulé Financer l’Afrique : Densifier les systèmes financiers locaux, paru en avril 2017 aux Éditions Saint-Honoré à Paris et préfacé par Léonce Ndikumana, professeur d’économie à l’université du Massachusetts aux États-Unis.

28/09/2017 - The President of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group, Akinwumi Adesina, arrived in Ouagadougou for a three-day official visit and was immediately welcomed by Burkina Faso's Head of State, Roch Marc Christian Kaboré.
During the meeting President Kaboré praised the excellent bilateral cooperation between his country and the AfDB and called for it to be boosted.
20/09/2017 - A new Energizing Finance Report Series released by the Sustainable Energy for All (SE4ALL) initiative and partners has alerted that the current flow of finance for energy access and clean cooking will not achieve global goals for delivering universal access by 2030.
