09/02/2018 - On the occasion of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, the African Development Bank calls on African countries to make science, technology and innovation (STI) policies inclusive and to place women and girls at the centre of STI programmes.
Celebrated each year on February 11, the International Day of Women and Girls in Science was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly to promote full and equal access to and participation in science for women and girls. The day is a reminder that women and girls play a critical role in science and technology communities and that their participation should be strengthened.

The African Development Bank (AfDB), together with the African Union Commission (AUC), the Global Panel on Agriculture and Food Systems for Nutrition, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and other partners will launch the African Leaders for Nutrition (ALN) initiative on Monday 29 January 2018 in Addis Ababa from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. The Breakfast event will take place on the margins of the 30th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union.

The event was hosted by the Ministry of Water and Sanitation of Senegal and chaired by Mansour Faye, Chair of the Governing Council and Minister of Water and Sanitation of Senegal.
17/01/2018 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank has approved a US $500-million loan to finance Egypt’s Economic Governance and Energy Support Program Phase III. This is the last in a series of three annual loans worth a total of US $1.5 billion covering the fiscal years 2015-2016 to 2017-2018 for the Economic Governance and Energy Support Program Based Operation.

Cecil Dennis Auditorium of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in Monrovia, Liberia.

21/12/2017 - L’enclavement numérique de la Centrafrique devrait trouver prochainement une solution. La Banque africaine de développement (BAD) a en effet décidé, vendredi 15 décembre 2017, à Abidjan, en Côte d’Ivoire, d’accorder un don de 16,7 millions d’euros afin d’assurer le financement de la composante centrafricaine du projet de la Dorsale à fibre optique d’Afrique centrale (CAB). L’Union européenne (UE) contribuera, pour sa part, à hauteur de 16,6 millions d’euros à ce projet d’un coût total d’investissement de 33,3 millions d’euros.
