07/09/2017 - African leaders and partners in the agriculture sector have validated the Feed Africa Strategy of the African Development Bank (AfDB) as a viable tool towards the transformation of agriculture on the continent.
31/08/2017 - Monday, August 28, 2017 was a special day for young entrepreneurs in Liberia. After Côte d’Ivoire in December 2016, the Bank is supporting the Government of Liberia to provide entrepreneurship training to young people in the agriculture value chain from 28th to 31st August 2017. The objective of the training is to encourage young entrepreneurs to take the bull by the horn, embrace risk and start their business.
29/06/2017 - President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf along with her counterparts from Cote d’Ivoire, Sierra Leone and Guinea, broke ground for the Cote d’Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea (CLSG) interconnection project, on the sideline of the high-level ECOWAS Heads of State summit in Liberia, held Sunday 4 June 2017.
27/06/2017 - The Climate Investment Funds (CIF) awarded Liberia a grant in the amount of US$ 23.25 million to help transform the country’s renewable energy sector. The project aims at developing a 9.8 MW hydropower plant at Gbedin Falls on the Mano River in Nimba County and provide a low-cost, sustainable and reliable source of electricity to Liberia.
08/04/2016 - Liberia, a small country of 4 million inhabitants located in West Africa, is on the verge of undergoing one of the most transformational moments in its agricultural history.
With 10% of its adult population having subscribed to mobile money accounts, Liberia can boast of soon being able to double this figure thanks to the Liberian Agriculture Transformation Agenda (LATA), launched by the Government of Liberia with the support of the African Development Bank.
17/03/2016 - Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf underscored the important role of the African Development Bank and the African Development Fund during the first meeting on the Fund’s 14th replenishment (ADF-14) in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, on Thursday, March 17.
15/03/2016 - The President of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB), Akinwumi Adesina, has pledged to support Liberia’s effort to diversify its economy, with a particular emphasis on the agriculture and power sectors.
09/03/2016 - The President of the African Development Bank, Akinwumi Adesina, will lead a Bank delegation on a working visit to Liberia on March 10 and 11, 2016, to hold discussions with Liberian officials and review the Bank’s projects and programmes in the country.
04/03/2016 - A high level meeting took place on February 25, 2016 between a delegation of the West African Health Organization (WAHO) and the Human and Social Development Department (OSHD) of the African Development Bank to discuss further collaboration between the two institutions. The meeting was held at the Bank’s headquarters in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
