16/04/2014 - The African Development Bank (AfDB), with the Dutch Development Bank FMO, the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) and Propaco of France on Monday, April 14 signed a USD142 million loan to develop the 120 MW Itezhi Tezhi power project. It is the first public-private partnership energy project in Zambia and is being developed jointly by TATA Africa and ZESCO Limited as an independent power producer, and the Itezhi Tezhi Power Company (ITPC).

08/04/2014 - Following the signing of the Capacity Building Project between the African Union Commission (AUC) and the African Development Bank during the meetings of the African Heads of State and Government held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in January 2014, the AfDB formally launched the project in Centurion, South Africa, on April 7, 2014.

06/12/2013 - La Banque africaine de développement (BAD) et le Sénégal ont signé, le 2 décembre 2013 à Dakar, trois accords de prêts et de don, portant sur un total de 23,6 milliards de FCFA. Amadou Ba, ministre sénégalais de l’Economie et des Finances ainsi que gouverneur de la BAD pour le Sénégal, et Leila Mokaddem, représentante résidente de la BAD au Sénégal, ont cosigné lesdits accords.

08/11/2013 - The African Water Facility (AWF) signed a €1 million grant in favour of the Ghanaian NGO Training, Research and Networking for Development (TREND) to support an innovative sanitation scheme. The project, which is a tripartite collaboration among TREND, Safi Sana Ghana Limited and the Ashaiman Municipal Assembly, is designed to turn waste into bio-fertilizer and energy, whilst providing affordable and sustainable sanitation services for the unsewered urban poor communities of Ashaiman district of Accra.

16/09/2013 - The Nordic Development Fund Manager for Southern Africa, Johanna Palmberg, visited the African Development Bank’s Zambia Field Office (ZMFO) on September 13, 2013 to discuss the ongoing green growth initiatives in Zambia pioneered by the AfDB, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED). The initiatives were launched with workshops in January and May 2013.
