02/07/2014 - The Government of Rwanda, spearheading an African Union-led initiative, and the African Development Bank Group (AfDB) have signed an agreement aimed at providing at least EUR 50 million (approx. USD 70 million) within an Africa-wide resource mobilization initiative. The initiative will finance improved access to drinking water, sanitation and hygiene in Africa. The agreement was signed on the fringes of the 23rd AU Summit held from 26-27 June 2014 In Malabo (Equatorial Guinea).
27/06/2014 - Le Groupe de la Banque africaine de développement (BAD) et la Côte d’Ivoire, respectivement représentés par Janvier Kpourou Litse, directeur en charge du Nepad, de l’Intégration régionale et du commerce et Nialé Kaba, ministre ivoirien en charge de l’Economie et des Finances, ont procédé le 25 juin 2014 à Abidjan, à la signature de protocoles de dons relatifs au Programme d’appui au renforcement de l’inclusion et de la cohésion sociale (PARICS).
04/04/2014 - A joint commitment under the theme of “Investing in People, Prosperity and Peace” was at the centre of the African and European leaders meeting in Brussels on Wednesday, April 2 and Thursday, April 3, 2014.
03/10/2013 - On Thursday October 3, 2013, the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the Government of Sudan signed a Protocol of Agreement for Technical Assistance for the preparation of a full Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (PRSP). The grant is financed with UA 1.97 million (US $3.2 million) from Pillar III of the Fragile State Facility. Most of the funds will go towards financing a National Baseline Household Survey (NBHS) in all 18 states in Sudan, which will be the first since the secession of South Sudan.
10/06/2013 - Le Groupe de la Banque africaine de développement (BAD) et la République centrafricaine (RCA) ont signé, le 31 mai 2013 à Marrakech, au Maroc, un accord de don relatif au projet d’appui aux statistiques et à la mise en œuvre du deuxième Document de stratégie de réduction de la pauvreté (DSRP), pour un total de 2,034 millions de dollars EU.
06/06/2013 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) signed two grant agreements for a total of US $5.250 million in Marrakech on the sidelines of the AfDB Annual Meetings. Initialed by the AfDB First Vice-President, Emmanuel Mbi, and DRC’s Deputy Finance Minister, Patrice Kitebi, the two grants are intended to provide technical assistance for the development of the Inga hydro-power plant located on the banks of the Congo River. The grants fall within the framework of the Fragile States Facility (FSF).
29/05/2013 - The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) undertook on May 28, 2013, to provide financing for the harnessing of drainage basins and improved climate resilience in Burundi. The operation was made official by the signing of two grant agreements with the Government of Burundi. The signing took place in the margins of the Bank’s 48th Annual Meetings in Marrakech.
05/06/2012 - The AfDB and Sierra Leone’s government on June 1, 2012 in Arusha, signed a US$1.2-million grant financing agreement under Pillar III of the Fragile States Facility, to provide urgently-needed support to the country’s financial sector development plan.
16/02/2012 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group has made two grant agreements totaling € 2.9 million (FCFA 1.9 billion) to fund governmental reforms and the country’s 2012 action plan.
24/11/2009 - After decades of interruption, Somalia re-established its relationship with the African Development Bank (AfDB) on Monday, 23 November 2009 with the signing of a USD 2 million grant to provide financial and technical assistance to Public Financial Management. The support to the Transitional Federal Government of Somalia comes from the Fragile States Facility (FSF) administrated by the Bank’s Fragile States Unit.
