16/10/2014 - In a move aimed at ending the frequent cycles of drought and famine in the Sahel region, the African Development Bank Group (AfDB) on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 approved loans and grants amounting to US $231 million to finance a Programme to Build Resilience to Food and Nutrition Insecurity in the Sahel (P2RS).

21/08/2014 - The Sustainable Energy Fund for Africa (SEFA) approved a US $950,000 grant for the development of the WINDIGA 20 MW Solar PV power plant in Burkina Faso. The SEFA project preparation grant will support outstanding advisory activities required for financial close, including support for the structuring of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for a period of 25 years with SONABEL, the national public utility.

10/10/2013 - Burkina Faso will receive a US $50.66 million (UA 33.02 million) grant to finance a drainage and solid waste management project in the outlying districts of Ouagadougou. The sub-project was approved by the African Development Bank Group on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 in Tunis.

29/06/2012 - Le Conseil d’administration de la BAD a approuvé, le 27 juin à Tunis, le financement de la réhabilitation et le bitumage de 303 km de route sur le corridor international Lomé-Ouagadougou, dont 150 km au Togo et 153 km au Burkina Faso. Le projet comporte également des aménagements connexes tels que la construction de plus de 100 km de pistes rurales, la réhabilitation d’infrastructures sociales et d’appui aux femmes, ainsi que deux volets importants pour la facilitation du transport et le renforcement des capacités.

15/07/2010 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Fund (ADF), the concessional Arm of the African development Bank (AfDB) Group approved on Thursday, 15 July 2010 in Tunis, a grant of 14.8 million USD and a loan of 24.7 million USD to finance the Fifth Poverty Reduction Strategy Support Programme (PASRP V) in Burkina Faso.

01/02/2010 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank Group on Wednesday, 27 January 2010 in Tunis, approved a loan of UA 24.2 million (USD 38 million) from the African Development Fund (ADF), the Group’s concessionary window, to fund the country’s Electricity Infrastructure Strengthening and Rural Electrification Project. The Board also approved an ADF grant of UA 950,000 (USD 1.49 million) for the same project.
