30/04/2014 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Group approved on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 an African Development Fund (ADF) loan of US $23.0 million, a loan of US $7.7 million from the Nigerian Trust Fund (NTF), and a grant of US $4.8 million from the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Facility to support Malawi’s implement the Sustainable Rural Water and Sanitation Infrastructure for Improved Health and Livelihoods Project. The project is aligned with the Malawi Growth and Development Strategy, the AfDB’s 2013-2017 Country Strategy Paper and the Bank’s Ten-Year strategy focusing on African transformation through inclusive and green growth.
04/12/2013 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Fund (ADF), the concessionary arm of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group, approved on Tuesday, December 3 a loan of US $65.0 million and a grant of US $900,000 to Malawi, and a loan of US $7.7 million to Zambia, respectively, for a total of about US $73.6 million, for the Multinational Nacala Road Corridor Development Project Phase IV.
18/10/2013 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) approved on Friday, October 18 a US $12.5-million equity investment in the Kibo Fund II. This contribution will allow the Fund to provide access to finance and capacity building to an underserved market of outward-looking small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and mid-market African firms, particularly in low-income and fragile states within various sectors in Africa, thereby boosting income generation and job creation.

26/03/2013 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group approved, on March 25, 2013, a grant amounting to US $3.04 million to finance the Kholombidzo Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP) Feasibility Studies in Malawi. The Government of Malawi will contribute US $0.23 million (7%) of the total study cost of US $3.27 million.
12/07/2012 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Fund (ADF), the concessional window of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group, approved on Wednesday in Tunis a budget support grant of 26 million Units of Account, or approximately USD40 million, to assist the government of Malawi in cushioning vulnerable groups from the short-term negative impacts of recent economic reforms, and to continue the implementation of public finance management reform measures.

04/06/2010 - On 25 May 2010, the African Development Bank (AfDB) approved an African Water Facility (AWF) grant of 3.549 million Euros to the Governments of Malawi and the United Republic of Tanzania to finance the detailed design and implementation of the Songwe River Basin Development Programme (SRBDP).
