25-May-2009 - Tunis, Tunisia, 22 May 2009 – The African Development Bank Group will help Malawi to improve its road networks with a loan of 22.98 million Units of Account (UA *), about US$ 34.42 million and a grant of UA 1.124 million (US$ 1.68 million) to, respectively, finance the rehabilitation of the Blantyre-Zomba trunk road and a feasibility and detailed engineering design of the country’s Ntcheu-Tsangano-Neno-Mwanza road link.
20-May-2009 - Guinea Bissau, May 16th, 2009 - The Bank Group’s Vice President for Infrastructure was in Guinea Bissau on Saturday, May 16th, 2009, for the signing ceremony of the Grant Agreement with the Executive Secretariat of the Gambia River Basin Organization (OMVG). The Grant will finance the integrated water resources management development project for the Kayanga-Geba basin in Senegal, Guinea and Guinea Bissau.
15-May-2009 - Dakar, Senegal – 14 May 2009 – The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group and the government of Sierra Leone have signed a 10-million Units of Account (US$ 15.4 million) grant agreement to finance the country’s Economic Governance Reform Programme (EPRG).
The agreement was signed on Thursday in Dakar, Senegal, by Vice President Zeinab El-Bakri for the AfDB Group and Sierra Leone’s Finance and Economic Development Minster, Samura Kamara, on the sidelines of the institution’s Annual Meetings.

07-May-2009 - Tunis, May 6 2009 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Fund on Wednesday in Tunis approved a loan of 50 million Units of Accounts, equivalent to US$ 75 million, to finance the Mombasa-Nairobi electricity transmission line project in Kenya.
The project is designed to facilitate the evacuation of power generated in the Mombasa area to Nairobi and into the national grid. The availability of power from Mombasa will help the country meet current shortfalls and future demand growth for electricity nationally.
