31-Oct-2008 - Tunis, 29 October 2008 – The African Development Fund (ADF), the concessionary window of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group, has approved a combined loan and grant of 40 million Units of Account (UA*), equivalent to US$ 62 million, to finance the Kandadji Ecosystems Regeneration and the Niger Valley Development programme (KERNVDP).
30-Oct-2008 - Tunis, 29 October 2008 – The Board of Directors of the African Development Fund (ADF), the concessional window of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group, on Wednesday in Tunis approved a 12 million Units of Account (UA*) grant, equivalent to US$ 18.7 million, to finance an electricity project in Conakry, Guinea.
30-Oct-2008 - Tunis, 29 October 2008 - Efforts by the Government of Tanzania to enhance accountability and transparency in the allocation of its public resources received strong support on Wednesday in Tunis where the Board of Directors of the African Development Fund (ADF), the concessional window of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group, approved a loan of 100 million Units of Account (UA*), equivalent to US$ 156 million to assist in the implementation of the country’s Poverty Reduction Strategy.
30-Oct-2008 - Tunis, 29 Oct 2008 – The African Development Bank, through its soft loan affiliate, the African Development Fund, on Wednesday approved 15 million Units of Account*, approximately US$ 23.4 million, as Zambia’s Second Poverty Reduction Budget Support Loan (PRBS II).
The loan will finance a two year programme to help Zambia implement key aspects of its Fifth National Development Plan. Primary beneficiaries will be Zambian businesses and the nation at large.
23-Oct-2008 - Tunis, 22 October 2008 – The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group on Wednesday in Tunis, approved US$ 293.4 million to Tunisia, Mozambique and Third Emerging Capital Partners Africa Fund (EAF 3) to boost infrastructure development and poverty reduction on the continent.
The Board, under the Bank Group’s Private Sector Window, approved the provision of a US$ 150 million senior to finance the Hasdrubal Oil and Gas Field Development Project, located in the Gulf of Gabes, 350 kilometres south-east of Tunis.
23-Oct-2008 - Tunis, October 22, 2008 – The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group has approved a budget support loan of 60 million Units of Account (UA*), equivalent to US$ 93.4 million, to finance Mozambique’s second Poverty Reduction Support Programme (PRSL II) for three fiscal years ending December 2010.

23-Oct-2008 - Tunis, 29 October 2008 – The African Development Bank (AfDB) has approved a loan of € 15.982 million to finance a health system development project in Equatorial Guinea.
The Health System Development Support Project aims at building the national health system’s capacity to deal with communicable diseases and provide quality healthcare with a view to improving the health status of the population.
16-Oct-2008 - Tunis, 16 October 2008 – The African Development Bank Group’s Board of Governors on Tuesday 15 Oct. 2008 in Tunis, approved a US$ 32 million private sector loan to Tema Osonor Plant Limited, a special purpose vehicle incorporated in Ghana to finance the country’s Tema Power Project.
16-Oct-2008 - Tunis, 15 October 2008 – The Central African Republic will receive 9.5 million Units of Account (UA*), about US$ 14.79 million grant in support of the country’s economic reform programme approved by the Boards of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group.
15-Oct-2008 - Tunis, 15 October 2008 – The African Development Bank Group and the Malian government have signed an agreement for a budget support loan of 33 million Units of Account (UA*), about CFAF 23 billion to finance the country’s Growth and Poverty Reduction Strategy Support Programme (GPRSSP).
The agreement for the African Development Fund (ADF) loan was signed on Monday in Tunis by the Bank Group’s Vice President for Sector Operations, Zeinab El-Bakri and Mali’s Ambassador to Tunisia, M’Barakou Arafa Askia Toure.
14-Oct-2008 - Tunis, 14 October 2008 – The African Development Bank Group has approved the immediate release of 7.71 million Units of Account (UA*), about US$ 12 million to Kenya to help the country tackle growing food shortages.
The funding will be used to procure and distribute fertilizers to farmers to boost food production during the current cropping season. The Kenyan Ministry of Agriculture and the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) will be responsible for the procurement and distribution of fertilizers.
08-Oct-2008 - Tunis, 8 October 2008 – Prospects for the completion of the Ethiopia-Djibouti power interconnection became a reality on Wednesday in Tunis, where the Board of Directors of the African Development Fund, the concessionary window of the AfDB Group, approved a combined loan and grant of 20.92 million Units of Account*, equivalent to US$ 32.57 million, to fund the Project.
08-Oct-2008 - Tunis, 8 October 2008 – The Board of Directors of the African Development Fund (ADF), the concessional window of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group, on Wednesday in Tunis approved a loan of 10.30 million Units of Account (UA*), approximately US$ 16 million, to finance the Bumbuna Hydroelectric Project in Sierra Leone.
24-Sep-2008 - Tunis, 24 September 2008 – The governments and businesses in five African Countries – Djibouti, Nigeria, Zambia, Mali and Malawi – will benefit from a combined multi-purpose funding of US$ 187 million approved by the Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group today in Tunis.
The approvals comprise four private sector financing with a combined value of US$ 102.6 million to three countries and two public sector projects worth US$ 73.8 million in two countries.

05-Aug-2008 - Tunis, 5 August 2008 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group and the West African Monetary Institute (WAMI) on Monday, in Tunis, signed a grant agreement of 14 million Units of Account (UA*), equivalent to US$ 23 million, to finance the West African Monetary Zone Payment System Development project, which aims at creating a single currency in the sub-region by standardizing the payment systems in The Gambia, Guinea and Sierra Leone.
30-Jul-2008 - Tunis, 30 July 2008 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group on Wednesday, 30 July 2008, in Tunis, signed a loan and grant agreements of 32 million Units of Account (UA*), equivalent to US$ 52 million (CFAF 22 billion) to finance a drinking water supply and sanitation project in Gao, Koulikoro and Segou regions of the country.
