22/10/2014 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank on Wednesday, October 22 in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, approved a grant of US $82.7 million (UA 55.56 million*) for the development of a 56-kilometre portion of the Batshamba-Tshikapa road in the Democratic Republic of Congo, between Lovua and Tshikapa on the country’s NR1. The grant supplements earlier Bank interventions on the same road.

20/11/2013 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB) approved US $68 million in financing for the multinational Inga Site Development and Electricity Access Support Project (PASEL). The project will further the development of the Inga hydropower plant located on the banks of the Congo River with a vast hydro-electric potential estimated at 44,000 MW – half of the continent’s installed electricity capacity.

18/10/2013 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) approved on Friday, October 18 a US $12.5-million equity investment in the Kibo Fund II. This contribution will allow the Fund to provide access to finance and capacity building to an underserved market of outward-looking small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and mid-market African firms, particularly in low-income and fragile states within various sectors in Africa, thereby boosting income generation and job creation.
