30/09/2015 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB) on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 approved combined loans and grants amounting to US $428.43 million to finance projects in energy, infrastructure, transport and water and sanitation in eight African countries – The Gambia, Ghana, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Guinea Bissau, Guinea, Senegal and Côte d’Ivoire.

09/07/2015 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group announced on Wednesday, June 8 the approval of €16.7 million (a €9-million loan and a €7.7-million grant) in financing toward a program which aims to strengthen the electricity distribution network in Guinea Bissau’s capital by rehabilitating the facilities of 31,000 existing subscribers; connecting 10,500 new subscribers; and improving the commercial management and governance of the public utility, the National Electricity and Water Corporation (company named EAGB).

16/10/2014 - In a move aimed at ending the frequent cycles of drought and famine in the Sahel region, the African Development Bank Group (AfDB) on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 approved loans and grants amounting to US $231 million to finance a Programme to Build Resilience to Food and Nutrition Insecurity in the Sahel (P2RS).

17/09/2013 - The signing ceremony for the Declaration of Intent for the Joint Initiative on Youth Employment in Africa (JYEIA) took place on September 12, 2013 at the Headquarters of the African Union Commission (AUC) in Addis Ababa. The Initiative is a response by the AUC, African Development Bank, United Nations Economic Commission for Africa and the International Labour Organization to the call by African Heads of State and Government, at their Summit in Malabo, Republic of Equatorial Guinea, held in July 2011, to tackle more decisively the youth employment challenge in Africa
