18/12/2014 - On December 18, 2014, the Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group approved various loans to Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea and Liberia taken from the resources of the Transition Support Facility (TSF) and the African Development Fund (ADF). These loans are intended to finance a programme for road development and the facilitation of transport within the Mano River Union.

27/08/2014 - The President of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB), Donald Kaberuka, and the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Director for Africa, Dr. Luis Sambo, on Tuesday, August 26 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) cementing a US $60 million Bank grant to help strengthen West Africa’s public health systems in response to the Ebola crisis.

07/11/2013 - The Board of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB) approved on Wednesday, November 6 in Tunis the Côte d’Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea (CLSG) electricity networks interconnection project. The total financing by the African Development Bank Group (African Development Fund, Fragile States Facility and Nigeria Trust Fund) amounts to EUR 145 million, representing roughly 40 per cent of the total project cost. The project will secure power supply for the four Mano River Union member countries, and will be implemented between 2014 and 2017.

15/07/2013 - The African Development Bank Board of Directors on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 in Tunis approved a five-year Country Strategy Paper (CSP) for Liberia covering the period 2013-2017. The paper tails the Joint Assistance Strategy (prepared jointly with the World Bank) for 2008-2012; and will support the Government’s Agenda for Transformation (AfT), which is linked to the country’s long-term vision to become an inclusive middle income country by 2030.

12/02/2013 - The African Water Facility (AWF) offers a €1.2 million grant to the Monrovia City Corporation (MCC) to support a project aimed at increasing access to sustainable and affordable sanitation and hygiene services to over 800,000 urban slum-dwellers in Monrovia, Liberia.

10/11/2010 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Fund (ADF), the concessional window of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group, approved on Tuesday, 9 November 2010 in Tunis, a USD 7.8-million (UA 5 million) grant to the West African Monetary Institute (WAMI), to cover the additional cost arising from the extension of the institute’s project to Liberia.
