11/12/2014 - La Banque africaine de développement (BAD) et le gouvernement mauritanien ont signé, ce 11 décembre 2014 à Abidjan, trois accords de don totalisant plus de 24 millions de dollars EU.

Ces dons, destinés à favoriser une croissance inclusive dans le pays, financeront la composante mauritanienne du Programme de renforcement de la résilience à l’insécurité alimentaire et nutritionnelle au Sahel, ainsi que le Projet d’appui à la gouvernance pour la promotion d’une croissance inclusive et le Projet d’appui à la formation et l’emploi des jeunes dans le pays.

16/10/2014 - In a move aimed at ending the frequent cycles of drought and famine in the Sahel region, the African Development Bank Group (AfDB) on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 approved loans and grants amounting to US $231 million to finance a Programme to Build Resilience to Food and Nutrition Insecurity in the Sahel (P2RS).

It has funded various projects in the country and helped to improve socio-economic conditions for the Mauritanian population," stated Diomba Thiam, Minister of Finance for Mauritania, at the African Development Bank’s Annual Meetings in Kigali.

05/04/2013 - As of the 31st of March 2013, the Global Environment Facility’s Least Developed Countries Fund (LDCF) has granted USD 18.6 million to be channeled by the African Development Bank (AfDB) to Sierra Leone, Uganda and Mauritania for project concepts to help climate-proof their water sectors. This work is regarded as a critical element of these countries’ moves toward climate-resilient poverty reduction and sustainable development.

22/11/2011 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) and finance company, Mauritania Leasing, signed an agreement on 15 November in Dakar for a grant of USD 365,000 provided by the Fund for African Private Sector Assistance (FAPA) to help finance small and medium-sized enterprises in the country.

04/12/2009 - La BAD et le gouvernement mauritanien ont signé, le 1e décembre 2009, à Zouérate, en Mauritanie, un accord de prêt relatif au projet d’extension de la mine Guelb El Rhein (Guelb II). Le prêt a été signé, pour la partie BAD et, au nom du vice-président de la BAD B. Pittman, par M. Lobe Ndoumbe, directeur à la BAD, et, pour la partie mauritanienne, par M. Taleb Ould Abdivall, administrateur et directeur-général de la SNIM.

29/10/2009 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) and the Government of Japan have approved a grant of USD 989,000 to la Société Nationale Industrielle et Minière (SNIM) of Mauritania to be paid from the Fund for African Private Sector Assistance (FAPA). The Technical Assistance contribution from FAPA, which comprises over 50% of the overall TA package, will enhance SNIM’s institutional and operational capacities to implement the Environmental and Social Management Plan for the Guelbs II Expansion Project financed in part by the AfDB.
