Global partners announce $61.8 million allocation to boost African Development Bank initiative for women entrepreneurs
13-May-2019 - The Governing Committee of the Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative (We-Fi) has approved a funding allocation of $61.8 million for the African Development Bank’s Affirmative Finance Action for Women in Africa (AFAWA) program. We-Fi is a partnership among 14 donor governments, eight multilateral development banks, and other public and private sector stakeholders, established in October 2017 and hosted by the World Bank Group.Zambia: African Development Fund approves $11.1 million for public finance reforms

26-Apr-2019 - The African Development Bank Group, on Wednesday 24 April 2019 approved a US$70 million loan for a road project in Nigeria’s southeastern Ebonyi State. The Bank will provide US$40 million, while its co-financier, the Africa Growing Together Fund (AGTF), will contribute US$30 million. The Islamic Development Bank is also providing Nigeria a loan of US$80 million, while the Ebonyi State Government will provide US$17.60 million, for a total project cost of US$167.60 million.

Il s’agit de deux nouvelles opérations dans les domaines des transports et de l’environnement, ainsi qu’une aide d’urgence dans le domaine de l’agriculture, qui vont renforcer le portefeuille actif de projets financés par la Banque en Guinée, pour le porter à un montant total d’engagements d’environ 562,36 millions de dollars EU.
African Development Bank signs $50 million agreement with Natixis to boost trade finance in Africa

12-Apr-2019 - The Board of the African Development Bank has approved a $15-million investment package to Infrastructure Credit Guarantee Company (InfraCredit), to support infrastructure financing through the domestic debt capital markets in Nigeria. The investment package to InfraCredit is comprised of a subordinated loan of $10 million and a risk sharing facility of up to $5 million. This intervention will promote local currency infrastructure financing, and further development of the domestic capital market.
African Development Bank Hails Canada’s US$1.1 billion pledge in callable capital support

08-Apr-2019 - On Thursday 4 April 2019, the African Development Bank successfully priced a dual tranche NOK 500 million 3-year fixed Social Bond and SEK 1.25 billion 5-year fixed Green Bond transaction. The three-year tranche is the very first Social Bond issued in the Norwegian market. It was also the first ever NOK transaction issued by the Bank and the third Social Bond issued under its Social Bond framework.
