12/02/2019 - The African Development Bank and UN Women held their fourth steering committee meeting on 8 February 2019 in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire. The two institutions signed a memorandum of understanding in March 2016 and have since then implemented a joint roadmap to advance gender equality on the African continent. This steering committee meeting aimed to review progress and define next steps in the partnership.

10/02/2019 - 2019 Sunhak Peace Prize Laureate Akinwumi Adesina has pledged to do more to advance Africa’s fight against hunger, poverty and youth underemployment. The President of the African Development Bank, and co-Laureate Waris Dirie, a global champion against Female Genital Mutilation, shared the prestigious US $1million dollar prize at an award ceremony held on 9 February 2019 in Seoul, South Korea.
08/02/2019 - The Climate Investment Funds’ “The Power of 10: Shaping the Future of Climate Action” event took place on 28-29 January, 2019 in Ouarzazate, Morocco at the Noor concentrated solar power complex, the largest plant of its type in the world, providing renewable energy to more than 2 million households. The summit convened over 300 climate leaders from the public and private sectors for action-oriented dialogue on fighting climate change.
