Donald Kaberuka, President of the AfDB, was awarded the country's highest distinction, the medal of "Commander of the Order of the Green Crescent of the Comoros", in recognition of this support.

Large inefficiencies in the use of resources in education and health have a negative impact on human capital, with drastic consequences for inclusive economic growth. In an environment of declining aid, achieving greater value for each dollar invested is critical.

13/09/2013 - The Comoros Energy Sector Support Project will receive grants totaling US $20.1 million to finance the rebuilding the country’s electricity sector. The financing source is mobilized from the Bank’s resources: (i) US $8.3 million from the African Development Fund (ADF), and (ii) US $12.1 million from the Fragile States Facility.
