04/03/2016 - A high level meeting took place on February 25, 2016 between a delegation of the West African Health Organization (WAHO) and the Human and Social Development Department (OSHD) of the African Development Bank to discuss further collaboration between the two institutions. 27/11/2015 - Although government policy-makers and their development partners both recognize the importance of investing in infrastructure and using a fragility lens when making broad policy decisions, there has been little attempt to systematically integrate thinking about fragility into investments in roads. Day 1 of the African Development Bank Transport Forum in Abidjan offered a discussion on the importance of roads to political stability, social cohesion, and institution-building, and, through these conduits, to the reduction of state fragility.

01/06/2015 - For countries at risk of Ebola, fighting it comes down to securing more funding for the battle, building up health care infrastructures and ensuring that nations take the lead on keeping citizens safe. That was the message Wednesday at a joint African Development Bank Group (AfDB) and World Bank post-Ebola panel during the AfDB's 50th Annual Meetings in Abidjan. That is where officials from both multilateral development banks (MDBs) and government leaders laid the ground work for how to continue to control Ebola’s spread.

Since March 23, 2014, the African Development Bank has played a prominent role in fighting back Ebola Virus Disease (EVD). The institution’s support of the three hardest-hit countries of Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone has never wavered.
