Officially launched on 24 July 2010 in Kampala, Uganda, on the sidelines of the 16th African Union heads of state and government summit, the Program for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA) has entered the preparation phase.

AfDB has reaffirmed the strategic priority it gives to governance, as one of its core strategic pillars and established a dedicated department in charge of governance – the Governance, Economic and Financial Reforms Department (OSGE) in the Operations Sector Vice-presidency (OSVP), as the anchor and catalyst for the AfDB’s work on governance.

21-Jan-2011 - The African Legal Support Facility (ALSF) undertook a mission to Washington DC and New York, from January 10 to 14, 2011, and held discussions with the World Bank, IFC and the Revenue Watch Institute officials and experts. The discussions were held within the framework of the ALSF’s strong commitment and firm determination to support African countries in building capacity and advisory services.

20-Dec-2010 - Le Conseil d’administration du Fonds africain de Développement (FAD), du Groupe de la Banque africaine de développement, a accordé lundi 6 décembre 2010 à Tunis, un prêt de plus de 28 millions d’euros et un don de plus de 4,5 millions d’euros au Niger, pour financer le Programme d’appui à la stratégie de développement accéléré et de réduction de la pauvreté du Niger (PASDRP I).
20-Dec-2010 - In close collaboration with Togolese authorities, a pilot program was launched in Lome Tuesday, December 14, 2010, to train 75 young business leaders in leadership and entrepreneurship, by 2013.
The program has been adopted by the AfDB, the Togolese Economy and Finance Ministry, Togo’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIT) and HEC Paris. It will include each year, 5 modules of 4 days. The first module (2010-2011) was open to 40 candidates from which 25 were selected on the basis of the quality of their business plan.
20-Dec-2010 - Le Conseil d’Administration du Groupe de la Banque Africaine de développement (BAD) a approuvé, le mercredi 15 décembre 2010, l’octroi de prêt et de don pour plus de 39 millions de dollars. Le prêt porte sur 12 millions de dollars et le don est d’un montant de 27 Millions de dollars. Ces deux montants sont destinés au financement du Projet d’Appui au Développement de l’Enseignement et la Formation Professionnels et Techniques (PADEFPT) au Niger.
