African Union Commission and ADEA pledge collaboration to improve education as Africa’s young population booms

31-Mar-2014 - The African Union Commission (AUC) and the Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work closely together on the development of education across the continent of Africa. The ceremony for the signing of the MoU took place in Tunis on March 24 at the African Development Bank, where ADEA is hosted. The two organizations will jointly develop and implement programs aimed at achieving Africa’s collective goals in education.

Government and African Development Bank discuss new Country Strategy for “strong, shared, sustainable growth” in Botswana

AfDB injects 2.5 billion CFA francs into a support project for the Virtual University of Senegal

28-Mar-2014 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group and the Government of Senegal signed a loan agreement on March 27, 2014 in Dakar for 3.38 million Units of Account (around 2.5 billion CFA francs) to finance the support project for the Virtual University of Senegal (PAUVS). The project brings to 13 the number of active operations in the Bank’s public investment portfolio in Senegal, which represents a net amount committed of 227.7 million Units of Account (approximately 167.3 CFA francs).
