26-Jun-2013 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) approved on 26 June 2013 a senior loan of USD 80 million in local currencies for OLAM Africa Investment Program (OAIP) to deepen the integration of OLAM Group’s agricultural value chain by investments in processing of wheat and palm oil in Africa.  The program includes five sub-projects in Cameroon, Ghana, Mozambique and Senegal.

La BAD forme à la réforme de la justice et du secteur de la sécurité en Afrique

26-Jun-2013 - L’Unité des états fragiles (OSFU) de la Banque africaine de développement (BAD)  a tenu  les 25 et 26 juin 2013 à Dakar, au Sénégal, un atelier de renforcement de capacités sur le thème « comment fonctionne le processus de réforme de la justice et du secteur de la sécurité en Afrique ? ». Cette formation sur la réforme des secteurs de la justice et de la sécurité est la troisième du genre organisée par la BAD.  Les deux précédentes ayant été organisées en Tunisie  (2011) et au Kenya (2012).

AfDB supports the Development of ECOWAS Common Migration Policy

25-Jun-2013 - The African Development Bank (AfDB), in partnership with the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Commission,  organized on 20-21 June 2013, in Dakar, Senegal,  a brainstorming workshop for migration experts and stakeholders from ECOWAS member states. The workshop, organized by the Regional Integration and Trade Division of the AfDB and supported by the Nigerian Technical Cooperation Fund, provided the basis for the development of a common regional migration policy.

This MoU signing comes on the heels of the AfDB’s new trust fund reform policy, shifting from bilateral to multi donor and thematic trust fund.

AfDB Approves a US$ 5.7 Million Trust Fund for Governance and Accountability

21-Jun-2013 - The African Development Bank’s Board of Executive Directors approved a Multi Donor Trust Fund of US$ $5.7million to support Value for Money, Sustainability and Accountability programs in Africa (VFM). The Fund has been created with the support of the Government of Norway and the Global Alliance for vaccines and Immunisation (GAVI) and will be administered by the African Development Bank. Several other donors have expressed interest in pooling resources into this Fund.

AfDB approves US$ 18 million for Livestock Infrastructure in Zambia

This year’s theme is drought and water scarcity. African drylands are particularly vulnerable to water scarcity. La BAD contribue pour 900.000 euros au renforcement des capacités en micro finance
