28-Oct-2011 - The Sixth African Economic Conference (AEC) wound up on Friday in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, after four days of brainstorming on the environment, climate change and green growth and how they affect Africa’s future prosperity.
This year’s event, which had the theme “Green Economy and Structural Transformation”, attracted experts from the worlds of international organizations, the public and private sectors, governments, academia, civil society and the media.

24-Oct-2011 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) has approved funds totaling USD 124.3 million for ground-breaking ‘Centers of Excellence’ in higher education in Mali, Uganda and Rwanda.
The funding approved within the span of three months (June and September 2011), aims to create a new model of higher education in the three countries. The Centers of Excellence will break the barriers between education and business by linking universities and training facilities to business incubators and by using new technologies to improve learning outcomes.
