Les investissements du Groupe de la Banque africaine de développement (BAD) dans les pays du Sahel en appui à l’effort public en faveur de l’éducation ont permis d’accélérer fortement les taux de scolarisation dans l’ensemble des pays du Sahel (voir plus bas).

03-Nov-2013 - La Banque africaine de développement (BAD), depuis le début de sa coopération en 1970 avec le Niger a financé un total de 108 opérations d’un montant total de 723 million d’UC (1 106 millions de dollars US), dont 40 opérations dans le domaine agricole de 252 millions d’UC (386 millions dollars US) et 10 opérations dans le domaine de l’eau et de l’assainissement d’une valeur de 67 millions d’UC (103 millions dollars US).

03-Nov-2013 - La Banque africaine de développement (BAD) est engagée de longue date dans l’agriculture et l’élevage au Sahel. L’agriculture sahélienne est essentiellement pluviale et extensive. Elle est fortement affectée par les aléas et variations climatiques. Seulement 5% des terres sont aménagés dans le Sahel en maitrise totale de l’eau. La majorité des exploitations sont familiales avec des tailles réduites (environ deux hectares).
