AfDB Co-Organizes First Africa Forum on Science,Technology and Innovation

29-Mar-2012 - The first Africa Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) will take place from April 1-3, 2012 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Nairobi. AfDB Annual Meetings will Debate Africa’s Growth Economy and its Place in Emerging Global Landscape

The high number of checkpoints results from the fact that Africa has 54 countries, but even so the process could be simplified, leading to big cuts in wasted time and transport costs, according to the report.

AfDB to host the Friends of Zimbabwe Roundtable in Tunis

21-Mar-2012 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) will host the Friends of Zimbabwe Roundtable, to discuss economic and political developments in the country on 23 March. AfDB Makes Aus $500 million Note

19-Mar-2012 - The African Development Bank (“AfDB”) rated (Aaa/AAA) today priced a new benchmark Australian Dollar transaction, marking the return of AfDB to the Kangaroo market in over a year. The A$500 million 10-year fixed rate note due on March 23, 2022, offers a semi-annual coupon of 5.25%. It was priced at 99.119% to yield 5.365% semi-annually. This equates to a spread of 105.75 basis points over the ACGB 5.75% due July 15, 2022; and a spread to AUD semi-quarterly mid swap of +45 bps.

This was the first in the series of planned regional consultations seeking to solicit the views of ministers and senior officials of governments, the African Union Commission, the United Economic Commission for Africa and representatives of the private sector to guide the preparation of the Bank’s LTS for 2013-2022.
