18-Sep-2012 - In its 69th meeting held in Bangkok, September 9-13, the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) Executive Board of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) approved a new methodology – the AM0108 “Interconnection between electricity systems for energy exchange.” The methodology is applicable in accounting for certified emission reductions (CER) due to the construction of new transmission lines connecting electricity grids with different carbon intensities.

L’objectif de sa visite est le renforcement du dialogue entre son institution et la Guinée. Cette visite sera aussi une opportunité pour la délégation de la BAD d’évaluer les progrès économiques accomplis par le pays, ainsi que ses besoins prioritaires en matière de développement économique et social.
14-Sep-2012 - Le Groupe de la Banque africaine de développement (BAD) a octroyé, le 10 septembre 2012 à Tunis, au Sénégal, un prêt de 4,4 millions d’unités de comptes, soit environ 4,5 milliards de Francs CFA, en financement du Projet d’appui à la promotion du secteur privé dans le pays (PAPSP). Ce montant qui sera prélevé sur les ressources du guichet du Fonds africain de développement, et contribuera au développement du secteur privé sénégalais, et en particulier à l’épanouissement des PME-PMI.

Cette visite s’inscrit dans le cadre du renforcement du dialogue et de la coopération entre la Guinée et la BAD. Elle sera, pour le président de la BAD et la délégation qui l’accompagne, une opportunité de prendre la mesure des progrès réalisés par la Guinée depuis les élections de 2010 qui ont marqué le retour à l’ordre constitutionnel.

12-Sep-2012 - The African Legal Support Facility is organizing a two-day round table on the theme of “Africa Capacity Building for International Commercial Law” on 13 and 14 September. The venue will be the Ramada Plaza Hotel in Gammarth, in Greater Tunis, Tunisia.
The main purpose of the seminar is to bring together institutions that build capacity for African lawyers in international commercial law. It will focus on practical ways by which institutions can work together to develop legal capacity.

04-Sep-2012 - Mr. Gabriel Negatu, AfDB’s Regional Director in charge of the East African Regional Centre (EARC), paid an official visit to the Bank-funded Menengai geothermal site in Kenya’s Rift Valley last Friday. The 400 MW project will cost approximately US $488 million, with the AfDB providing US $120 million, and is expected to increase the country’s installed capacity by almost 30 per cent.
