10-Oct-2013 - Burkina Faso will receive a US $50.66 million (UA 33.02 million) grant to finance a drainage and solid waste management project in the outlying districts of Ouagadougou. The sub-project was approved by the African Development Bank Group on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 in Tunis.
Based on studies conducted by the African Water Facility in 2012, the sub-project aims to tackle drainage and solid waste management issues, and constitutes the backbone of all future operations in the sector.
10-Oct-2013 - The African Development Bank Group approved on Wednesday, October 9 a US $75.5 million (UA 50 million) soft loan for Mali to help the country finance a drinking water supply project in Bamako.
The project aims to produce an additional 144, 000 cubic metres of drinking water per day from Kabala locality to be supplied to the capital, Bamako.
This volume of water represents 68% of current production. Bamako’s current rate of access to drinking water is estimated at 36%.
