23-Nov-2012 - On Tuesday 20th November 2012, the AfDB signed a US$ 0.26 million protocol agreement with Mamaoun Beheiry Centre for Economic and Social Studies and Research (MBC), a policy think-tank in Khartoum named after the first President of the Bank. 22-Nov-2012 - Le Groupe de la Banque africaine de développement (BAD) et l'Agence marocaine de l'énergie solaire (MASEN) ont procédé, sous la présence effective du Roi Mohamed VI, le 19 novembre à Rabat, à la signature des accords de prêts et de garanties relatifs au projet de la première phase de la centrale solaire de Ouarzazate. Les accords sont d’un montant de 238,12 millions d’euros, soit un total de 2.7 milliards de dirhams.

This year’s forum on "enhancing the human development of migrants and their contribution to the development of communities and states" was held in Mauritius on November 21-22 2012. It focused on labor mobility and beyond-the-border skills as well as jobs for African youth.

21-Nov-2012 - The First Africa CEO Forum, a high-level meeting for the African private sector, opened on Tuesday November 20, in Geneva in the presence of 560 delegates from 32 countries, including more than 300 leaders of major private African enterprises. Approximately 100 investors and financiers, among the most influential in Africa, as well dignitaries from Africa and the rest of the world, attended the event.

19-Nov-2012 - At meetings of the Climate Investment Funds (CIF) in Istanbul, Burkina Faso and Ghana received endorsement of their far-reaching plans for sustainably managing their forest sectors as part of their goals for climate-resilient economic development. The endorsements came from the Forest Investment Program (FIP), one of the four programs of the US $7.2 billion Climate Investment Funds (CIF), with support of the African Development Bank (AfDB) and other partners including the World Bank Group.

The funding supports the implementation of a multi-year reform program to fund The Gambia’s implementation of its development strategy Program for Accelerated Growth and Employment (PAGE).

14-Nov-2012 - The Governor of Taraba State, Danbaba Suntai, on October 24, and the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Chief Moses Alake Adeyemo, on November 1, launched the Urban Water and Sanitation Improvement Project – with an African Development Bank loan of approximately US $100 million for the rehabilitation, expansion and construction of water and sanitation facilities in Jalingo, Taraba State, and Ibadan, a city located in Oyo State, Nigeria. The project will improve access to clean water and sanitation for an estimated 1.5 million people.
