07-Jul-2012 - The president of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Donald Kaberuka, was received in audience on Tuesday, 3 July by Tunisia’s Prime Minister and head of government, Hamadi Jebali at government house (Kasbah) in Tunis. The visit was within the context of the continual dialogue between the AfDB and Tunisian authorities at the highest level. President Kaberuka met on January 17 with the interim President, Moncef Marzouki.
Discussions between the two leaders during Tuesday’s meeting focused on an assessment of the situation in Tunisia.

05-Jul-2012 - African finance and health ministers, parliamentarians, civil society organizations, private sector and representatives of bilateral and multilateral development institutions, began a two-day meeting on health financing on Wednesday in Tunis.
Key issues on the agenda of the meeting include planning and budgeting for results, improving performance, health insurance, results-based financing, as well as sustainability of programs related to HIV/AIDS and maternal and child health.

29-Jun-2012 - Mr. Nizar Baraka, the Minister of Economy and Finance of the Kingdom of Morocco, and Ms. Cecilia Akintomide, Vice-President and Secretary General of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group, signed the Memorandum of Understanding for the organization of the Annual Meetings of the AfDB Group from 27 to 31 May 2013 in Marrakech.
The Minister and the Secretary General both recognized that the hosting of the 2013 Annual Meetings marks another milestone in the partnership between the Kingdom and the AfDB Group.

The debate was entitled: “Does Evaluation Matter for Development Results?” and OPEV launched its new quarterly knowledge publication, Evaluation Matters, at the event.
26-Jun-2012 - The African Development Bank’s legal department held a brainstorming session in Tunis on 22 June on the rule of law and the challenges it poses for economic development.
Entitled “Is the rule of law a condition for or the result of economic development? Rethinking the link between law and development,” the session helped to deepen the knowledge base of the rule of law in development not only of the AfDB’s practitioners of law, but also vice presidents and executive directors of the Bank.
