07-May-2012 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) is increasing the level of transparency over its operational actions and policies and sector strategies.
The decision was taken by the AfDB’s Board of Directors on 2 May 2012, which approved the AfDB’s revised policy on disclosure and access to information. The Board recognized that more transparency and accountability were essential to the AfDB’s effectiveness in delivering its developmental mandate.

M. Kaberuka et sa délégation seront les hôtes d’un dîner de travail offert par le ministre du plan, de l’économie et de la coopération internationale et gouverneur de la BAD. Plusieurs membres du gouvernement centrafricain y prendront part.
05-May-2012 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group made approvals of almost USD 8.5 billion in 2011, which represented a 36-percent increase on 2010 approvals which totalled approximately USD 6.2 billion.
The figures were revealed at a financial presentation of the AfDB’s results and operations for 2011 made on 30 May in Arusha, Tanzania, where the institution is holding its Annual Meetings.

The event was intended to broaden and deepen the pool of AfDB’s co-financing partners for private sector operations, primarily among commercial investors, but also other development financial institutions and export credit agencies.
04-May-2012 - The Bank’s Governor for Saudi Arabia, Engineer Yousef I. Al-Bassam has called on AfDB to forge a strong working relationship with the Saudi Fund for Development and Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA). The Governor made the call recently while in Lusaka to sign a $12 million loan for the Kalabo, Sikongo-Angola Border Road Project. 04-May-2012 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) has received approval from the Government of Uganda to issue bonds denominated in Uganda Shillings on the Ugandan capital market.
Pierre Van Peteghem, Treasurer of the African Development Bank Group, said that following the Government’s authorization, the multilateral bank is currently processing all regulatory steps required for the launch of a Note Program.

02-May-2012 - The Multilateral Finance Institutions Working Group on the Environment (MFI-WGE) convened in Sidi Bou Said, Tunisia, from 25 to 27 April to review policy developments at the various member institutions.
The MFI-WGE is composed of the heads and key senior representatives of environment departments of the various MFIs, multi-lateral agencies (UNEP-FI, WHO, UNDP) and bilateral agencies (JICA, AFD) and export credit agencies.
