17-May-2007 - The Annual Meetings of the African Development Bank (ADB) Group ended on Thursday in Shanghai, China with the Board of Governors endorsing the main thrust of the Bank’s vision, and taking note of a visible improvement in the Bank’s approach to development issues in regional member countries.
The governors welcomed ongoing institutional reforms aimed at enhancing the Bank’s operational efficiency as well as its capacity to effectively and efficiently meet the needs and expectations of its borrowing members.

Shanghai, China, 17 May 2007 – The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group concluded its 2007 Annual Meetings on Thursday in Shanghai, after a meticulous review of the activities and the adoption of the Annual Reports of the three loan windows of the Group and statements for the financial year ended 31 December 2006.
17-May-2007 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group President, Donald Kaberuka, was on May 22, 2007, received in audience by Cameroon’s President, Paul Biya.
Mr. Kaberuka used the occasion to inaugurate the Bank’s new regional office in Cameroon and later announced a CFAF 22 billion grant to the Central African country to finance the Limbe shipyard project. The opening of an office in Yaoundé falls within the framework of institutional reforms at the Bank.

Shanghai, China, 15 May 2007 – The 42nd Annual Meetings of the Board of Governors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the 33rd Annual Meetings of the Board of Governors of the African Development Fund (ADF), opened on Wednesday in Shanghai, China, with calls for wider and mutually beneficial cooperation between Africa and China on the one hand and Africa and Asia on the other hand.
15-May-2007 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group on Monday presented its 2006 financial results to participants of its Annual Meetings in Shanghai, China. Speaking on the occasion, Bank Group Vice President for Finance, Thierry de Longuemar, indicated that loans and grants from the non-concessional ADB window increased by 20.3% in 2006, while policy-based lending and private sector operations rose by 178% and 55% respectively.
