15-Oct-2005 - Project managers and staff from the African Development Bank Country Office in Tanzania, led by the ADB Resident Representative Sheku Sesay, have been meeting with Tanzania finance ministry officials this week in a review of the Bank-funded projects in the country. The meetings, chaired by the Commissioner of External Finance in the Ministry of Finance, Mrs. Joyce Mapunjo, exchanged views on issues affecting the implementation of projects and discussed the Country Portfolio Improvement Plan (CPIP) for the country.
14-Oct-2005 - African Ministers in charge of Women’s Affairs and Gender are meeting in Dakar to discuss implementation of the African Union declaration on the promotion of gender in Africa. The African Development Bank Group Resident Representative in Dakar Mohamed H’Midouche is attending the week-long meeting which is organized by the government of Senegal with support from the African Union, the Economic Commission for Africa and the Bank.

10-Oct-2005 - The Joint Africa Institute* (JAI) on Monday began a course on Programming and Financial Policies for the benefit of 34 officials from 25 central Banks of the AfDB Group Regional Member Countries. The two-week course (3-14 October, 2005) jointly organized by the IMF, provides participants with an understanding of the key analytical concepts and frameworks needed to design and implement macroeconomic and structural policies in the context of financial programs. Emphasis is placed on the complementarities of macroeconomic and structural policies.
05-Oct-2005 - The African Development Bank Group Resident Representant in Nigeria, Mr. Zondo Sakala, on Wednesday in Abuja, received nine-man technical advance team from the Islamic Development Bank led by Mr. Abderrahman El Glaoui, the Acting Director of Country Operations Department. The team arrived in Nigeria ahead of a three-day official visit of the President of the IsDB, Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Ali, beginning on Thursday following the country’s recent accession to membership of the Bank.
04-Oct-2005 - The African Development Bank (ADB) Group Resident Representant in Mali, Mr. Jean-Pierre Rigoulot, presented his letters of credence on Tuesday in Bamako to the Malian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mr. Moctar Ouane. Mr. Rigoulot who was accompanied by Mr. Bâ Mamadou Samba, Coordinator of operations in the Bureau, quoted the Malian minister as saying he would assist the mission accomplish its task "under the best possible conditions".
03-Oct-2005 - Experts from the African Development Bank and the World Bank in Tunis on Monday, October 3, began a two-day retreat aimed at establishing a strategic partnership for sustainable water and sanitation services in Africa.
