28-Jan-2016 - On January 25, 2016 in Bamako, the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the Government of Mali reached an agreement on a CFAF 60-billion funding package, composed of a CFAF 40-billion loan and a CFAF 20-billion grant. The funding support a multi-national road infrastructure and transport links improvement project along the Bamako-Zantiebougou-Kolondieba-Boundiali-San Pedro corridor shared by Mali and Côte d’Ivoire.

The CIF in Action semi-annual report, published recently by the Bank’s Energy, Environment and Climate Change Department (ONEC), highlights the AfDB’s work in expanding access to international climate change financing and was prominently displayed at the entrance to the CIF Partnership Forum’s Knowledge Bazaar.

12-Jan-2016 - On Monday, December 14, 2015, the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the Government of Sudan launched the US $26-million Water Sector Reforms and Institutional Capacity Development project, which will benefit West Kordofan State and some federal water sector institutions. The project is funded with an AfDB grant of US $22 million over the next five years, financed from the Bank’s Transitional Support Facility and its Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Initiative.
