A high level delegation from the African Development Bank delegation led by its President, Akinwumi Adesina, will early next week visit four Nordic countries as part of efforts to further accelerate the implementation of the High 5 operational priorities of its 10-Year Strategy. The Bank’s priorities are crucial in transforming the lives of African peoples, and are in line with the United Nations agenda on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as well as the international development policy of the Nordic countries.
21/04/2017 - The African Development Bank President’s full and busy second day in Washington, DC opened with a meeting of Multilateral Development Bank Heads and a bilateral tête-à-tête with Tone Skogen, State Secretary and Norwegian Governor to the AfDB.
08/06/2016 - The African Development Bank’s commitment to support Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was reiterated during Norway’s International SDGs commitment seminar held in Oslo on June 6, 2016. Frannie Leautier, Senior Vice-President of the AfDB, said to speed up Africa’s transformation over the next decade, the Bank will systematically leverage its own resources.

16/10/2015 - The African Development Bank has just concluded three back-to-back African Economic Outlook 2015 information seminars in the Nordic capitals of Oslo, Copenhagen and Helsinki. The seminars followed an invitation extended to the Bank’s Development Research Department in June by a visiting Danish delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to launch the AEO 2015 report in the Nordic countries.
02/09/2013 - Norway is supporting the African Development Bank’s African Legal Support Facility (ALSF) with a contribution of NOK 30 million (approximately US $4.9 million), as a core contribution towards the ALSF 2013-2014 work program.
02/09/2013 - The President of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group, Donald Kaberuka, this week made an official visit to the Nordic member countries of the Bank Group to discuss the institution’s Strategy 2013-2022, its transformation agenda and the impeding return of the Bank to its headquarters in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, among other issues.

The conference set out to examine key aspects of the global health agenda in the context of the Millennium Development Goals and launch a yearly progress report on Norway’s Global MDG Campaign - Accelerating Progress in Saving the Lives of Women and Children.
06/06/2012 - Dr. Agnes Soucat, AfDB Director for Human Development, Dr. Luis Gomes Sambo, WHO Regional Director for Africa and Dr. Feng Zhao, AFDB Health Division Manager participated in 2 workshops organized by NORAD --The Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation – on the Economic Benefits of Investing in Women’s Health and the Saving Mothers Giving Lives initiative.
