President Kaberuka on Official Visit in Abidjan
The President of the African Development Bank Group, Donald Kaberuka, arrived in Abidjan Sunday night at the start of a 3-day official visit to Cote d’Ivoire at the invitation of the government.
He was received on arrival by Plan and Economic Development Minister Antoine Bohoun Bouabre, ADB Alternate Governor.
The President will meet with Prime Minister Charles Konan Banny and some government Ministers on Monday before dinner with President Laurent Gbagbo later in the day.
He told the Ivoirian press at the airport that he is here to also visit the headquarters of the Bank, tour Bank facilities and meet with staff in Abidjan.
The President’s schedule includes meetings with donor representatives and business leaders in Abidjan and a tour of the Bank-financed Azito project.
ADB Executive Director for Cote d'Ivoire Philippe-Henry Dacoury-Tabley and his Adviser Mrs. Louise Djoussou-Lorng are in Abidjan for the visit.
The African Development Bank has temporarily relocated its activities in Tunis since February 2003.
