25-Feb-2016 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 approved the 2016-2020 Country Strategy Paper (CSP) for Seychelles, which aims to foster a more diversified economy with greater resilience to external shocks and job creation for youth.
The approval comes with a US $39-million financing package which will be complemented with trust fund resources, climate funds as well as resources to be mobilised from parallel and co-financing mechanisms.
25-Feb-2016 - The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) will support Tanzania’s economic transformation to inclusive and green growth with an indicative concessional resource assistance package estimated at over US $1.1 billion over a five-year period.
The support package is contained in the Bank’s 2016-2020 Country Strategy Paper (CSP) for Tanzania, which will guide the Bank’s operations in the country in the next five years. The CSP was approved by Bank’s Board of Directors on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

This marks an important step towards addressing the acute shortage of housing in most African countries, while creating jobs and enhancing income in Africa.

The initiative aims to strengthen regional integration and resilience by reducing the infrastructure gap, with a special focus on energy and road infrastructure. It also seeks to facilitate intra-regional connectivity, and promote trade and private sector development within its member states of Côte d’Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea.

15-Feb-2016 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) has announced the appointments of Kevin Chika Urama and Maria Mulindi as advisors to the Bank’s President, Akinwumi Adesina.
In announcements released on Sunday, February 14, 2016, the Bank’s Human Resources Department said that Urama has been Appointed Senior Policy Advisor to the President on Inclusive and Green Growth, while Mulindi will serve as Senior Advisor, Civil Society and Community Based Organizations.

On average Africans need visas to travel to 55% of other African countries, can get visas on arrival in only 25% of other countries and don’t need a visa to travel to just 20% of other countries on the continent.
