12/10/2018 - The African Development Bank has approved the East Africa Regional Integration Strategy Paper (RISP) laying out the roadmap for accelerating regional integration in the Region with regional infrastructure development among the main pillars of the plan. The Strategy will guide the Bank’s regional operations in 13 countries, namely Burundi, Comoros, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Seychelles, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda.

15/02/2017 - The eight-nation Intergovernmental Agency on Development (IGAD) has secured a US $3.50-million grant from the African Development Fund (ADF), the concessional window of the African Development Bank Group, to finance the agency’s Infrastructure Master Plan (IRIMP).
09/03/2016 - The African Development Bank Group will help Djibouti to diversify its economy, improve governance and create employment for the country’s young population.
These commitments were agreed in the 2016-2020 Country Strategy Paper (CSP) for Djibouti approved by the Bank’s Board of Directors on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
15/07/2015 - The African Water Facility (AWF) participated in a handover ceremony on June 18 to mark the completion of the Saday dam in Djibouti. The AWF’s involvement is part of a project to support the mobilization of water for domestic and agricultural use in rural areas.
18/06/2015 - The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) has extended its multimillion multi-phased Horn of Africa drought resilience programme with a US $16-million soft loan to Djibouti and a US $14-million grant to Sudan.
The African Development Fund (ADF) loan and grant were approved by the AfDB Group’s Board on Wednesday, June 17 in Abidjan, to finance phase three of the Drought Resilience and sustainable Livelihoods Programme in the Horn of Africa (DRSLP III) in the two countries.
27/10/2014 - On 27th October 2014 the African Development Bank (AfDB) joins the United Nations Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, the African Union, the World Bank, the European Union and Islamic Development Bank in a 4-day visit to the Horn of Africa. At the start of the visit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the AfDB pledged a new $1.8 billion development assistance package for the next 3 years 2015-2017.
